What is WROC?
The Women's Resource and Outreach Centre Limited is a non-governmental organization based in Kingston, Jamaica, whose mission is to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and youth through social, economic and advocacy programmes.
 
Strengthening Women’s Leadership in Jamaica
Under a programme funded by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF), WROC executed a training programme ‘Strengthening Women’s Leadership in Jamaica (SWLJ)’. Training sessions were conducted with ninety three ladies for appointment to public and private sector boards and commissions as well as school boards. WROC has created a database which will help to facilitate organizations identifying appropriate candidates for boards of governance from the pool of women we have trained.
