Avianca Ecuador, formerly known as AeroGal, is an Ecuadorian airline headquartered in Quito. Previously, AeroGal operated passenger flights with Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Peru and Colombia.
Specific destinations included Bogota, Cali, Medellin, Willemstad, Quito, Baltra Island, Cuenca, Guayaquil, Manta, Nueva Loja, Coca, San Cristobal and Lima. Aerogal’s main function was to connect the capital of Ecuador with the fascinating islands of the Galapagos.
In 2009, AeroGal merged with the Colombian airline Avianca, and with VIP Ecuador in 2012. In 2014, the airline was renamed Avianca Ecuador. The Avianca Ecuador fleet includes 6 Airbus A319 and 3 A320.
Avianca Ecuador's main hub is Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito with secondary hubs in Bogota and Guayaquil. The process of integrating AeroGal into Avianca started in October 2010 with full technology and fleet integration, along with all sales offices and aircraft adopting the Avianca logo and livery.
