Bethabara Primary School was established in 1846 on the grounds of the Bethabara Moravian Church. It was later relocated to its present site and is operating as a Moravian leased Primary and Junior High School. The community in which the school is located is one that faces grave economic challenges.
Many parents are unemployed and depend on small farming for their existence. This has resulted in almost 50 percent of the population being on the PATH Programme.Others benefit from the school‟s efforts to secure assistance from agencies such as Food for the Poor.
