Genesis Academy began when the founder, Mrs. Pauline Beaumont felt a calling from the Lord to set up a first class high school for students with learning challenges.
Market research also demonstrated that there was an urgent need, so combined with the vision and the need, Genesis Academy was started on 15th September 2003 with 5 students and has had significant growth since inception.
It is a high school for students age 12 to 21.The school is a place for students who have been identified as intellectually challenged.
Our institution caters to students who are diagnosed, inter alia, as being autistic, slow learners, having Down’s syndrome & cerebral palsy.
Coupled with their diagnoses, some students may also have physical challenges, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, neurological disorders, and behavioural problems.
The needs our of students are not easily met in a regular classroom setting, as they require individualized attention and support in a very structured environment.
There is also an interdependent unit for our more severely challenged students ages 18 to 25 provides support in occupational & life skills. Our school environment is a Christian one in which students are encouraged to develop a relationship with God.
