Beckford & Dixon Ltd’s civil engineering projects include the infrastructure for low to medium income housing developments like Roads, Water Supply, Sewerage Collection Disposal Systems, Pumping Stations and Storm Water Drainage. Beckford & Dixon Ltd also provides Bridges, Fording, Irrigation Systems, Marine Structures, Flood Control and Drainage Systems.
The company’s current configuration is the result of the engineering practice formed by Earle Barrington Beckford in 1970 as E.B. Beckford & Associates.
In 1972 Mr. A.G. Jones became a partner and the firm was renamed Beckford & Jones. When Mr. E.B. Dixon became a director in 1975 the practice was renamed Beckford & Dixon.
The company has maintained its office at 6 Stanton Terrace in Kingston, Jamaica throughout the 40 years of its existence and continues to offer Civil and Structural Consulting Engineering Services for the public and private sectors.
The Company provides all aspects of civil and structural engineering. Since the 1970’s, our civil engineering projects include the infrastructure for low to medium income housing developments.
This includes roads, water supply, sewerage collection, disposal systems, pumping stations and storm water drainage. The company also designs bridges, fording, irrigation systems, marine structures, flood control and drainage systems.
Our structural engineering designs include single and multi-storey reinforced concrete and steel framed buildings for offices, community centres, hospitals, banks, factories, police stations, libraries, schools, houses and apartment buildings.
We continue to provide Feasibility Studies, Investigations and Reports, Inspections, Designs and Detailing, preparation of Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents, Construction Supervision and Project Management services.
Beckford & Dixon has participated on projects island-wide for a wide range of public and private clients.
We are registered as a civil/structural engineering firm by the Professional Engineering Registration Board of Jamaica and our engineers have individual registration. All are members of the Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE).
