Holland high school was opened on September 01, 2004 as a joint venture between the government and the Roman Catholic in Jamaica. The church provided the land and the government, through the Urban Development Corporation, financed the building and the M.O.E.Y.C is responsible for the operational cost.
The Catholic Priest in Montego Bay, Fr. Carl F, Clarke serves as the chairman of the Board of Management. This Board is very instrumental in spearheading major projects and working in tandem with the Ministry of Education to formulate policies.
Holland High School offers a Liberal Arts programme which emphasize basic humanistic, business and scientific principle. The programme challenges student to think critically and analytically and to be engaged in problem solving. They are strongly encouraged to be lifelong learners.
To prepare students to function effectively in a society with a growing range of opportunities, a vocational/technical programme has been introduced. Additionally, the student's appreciation for literature, music, drama and aesthetics is achieved through the academics curriculum and co-curricular activities.
