CSJP is a multi-faceted crime and violence prevention initiative of the Ministry of National Security which focuses on building community safety and security. The programme provides crime and violence prevention services to 50 vulnerable and volatile communities, spanning eight parishes, and conducts institutional strengthening of the Ministry of National Security.

 

The CSJP provides social intervention services to the following communities in Jamaica:

General Information

The CSJP started in 2001 and is currently in its third (3rd) Phase. The programme is funded by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Britain’s Department For International Development (DFID) and Global Affairs Canada.

 

The general objective is to enhance citizen security and justice in Jamaica in fifty (50) targeted communities.

 

■ improve behaviors for non-violent conflict resolution;

■ increase local labor market attachment among youth; and

■ increase access to effective community and alternative justice services.
