The Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) is an Agency of the Government of Jamaica's Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries that caters to and promotes business opportunities in export and investment to the local and international sectors
facilitating trade and exports, particularly trade in medical tourism. The JANAAC is the National Accreditation Body of Jamaica and is the only internationally recognized accreditation body in the English speaking Caribbean
offering services to Jamaica, the Caribbean Region and the Americas.

JANAAC is a full member of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and has signed multilateral arrangements (MLA) with the IAAC and Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) with the ILAC that allows for the international acceptance of the results from JANAAC accredited laboratories to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard for testing labs, the ISO15189 standard for medical labs.

JANAAC now offers accreditation services to inspection bodies to the ISO/IEC17020 standard. The MLA and MRA assure the equivalence of testing competency. With the use of the international standards as the benchmark, the goal is to promote harmony and to reduce the cost penalty of needless test duplication because of the use of internationally accepted testing and measurement practices. Data generated by an accredited laboratory is readily accepted in overseas markets. Thus, “tested once accepted everywhere”.
