Embassy of Japan in Jamaica also has been accredited to the Bahamas and Belize.

The Embassy of Japan was established in Kingston in 1995, and its jurisdiction extended to Belize and the Bahamas in 2006 to conduct diplomacy and consulate services in the three countries.

The year 2014 will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Jamaica. I am committed to further deepening our relations by building upon the friendship and trust established over the past half century.

The relations with Belize have been deepened in recent years as the number of Japanese tourists visiting this beautiful land is increasing and the first Belizean national went to Japan to study under the MEXT Scholarship Programme this year. The Government of Japan has assisted building facilities and human resources by its bilateral aid programmes as well as through international organizations such as UNESCO and the World Bank. We are confident that Belize will achieve further development by taking advantage of its abundant natural and cultural resources.

The Embassy of Japan will continue to fulfill our duties by making efforts to strengthen Japan’s relations with Jamaica, Belize and the Bahamas, and by assisting the activities of our fellow Japanese residents and the peoples in those countries.
