Digital Office Solutions 2009 Limited (D.O.S) history began in April 2003 with the vision of entering and capturing the emerging digital space within Jamaica. Launching with the initial focus of transitioning companies document management systems from paper to digital, through scanning and archiving in this new world of work.
In September 2003, the company experienced its first significant growth spurt when an unexpected opportunity presented itself, the owners of Lanier dealership in Jamaica wanted to sell.
The principals of D.O.S wanted to capitalize on what they saw as excellent opportunity to expand the business. Acquiring Lanier would provide additional place, product, personnel and client base; with limited contenders in the market the acquisition was successful.
DOS 2009 Ltd became one of the first local vendors specializing in digital print solutions services and document management.
Shortly after acquisition, it was revealed that Ricoh had globally acquired Lanier brand. Thus, cementing the value and potential of the underestimated and underutilized Ricoh brand.
