Legendary Harry J Studio, located at 10 Herb McKenley Drive, Kingston 6, Jamaica is unlike any other recording centre on the island. Famous for records from Bob Marley & The Wailers, the studio not only brags contributing to legendary music but is also a landmark lyming spot for the Rolling Stones, The Who, and Grace Jones …just to mention a few.
In 2000 Stephen Stewart (Engineer, Producer, Musician), who worked in the early years with Sid Bucknor and Sylvan Morris, refurbished, re-equipped and reopened Harry J Studio. Since then, under the management of S. Stewart, the studio has seen the return of revolutionary acts like Burning Spear, Toots, Shaggy, Sly & Robbie, and newer projects of Shakira, Papa Sam/Kirk Franklyn, Luciano and Sizzla. Added to its list of accolades, the studio also made a guest appearance in the movie “Rockers"
Under the management of a new team, the Studio is now focused on fusing rich history and tradition with a comfortable workspace for new talent.
