Born out of a need to provide Co-operative Societies and their members with high quality general insurance services, Jamaica Co-operatives Insurance Agency Ltd (JCIA) formally NUCSCIS, opened its doors as a co-operative in 1983. 

 

As a Cooperative Society, we operate under the principle of service above profit and sharing of any profits and returns.  The company is owned by Credit Unions members of the Cooperative Credit Union League, and by other co-operatives via the National Union of Co-operatives Societies.  NUCS-CIS was renamed Jamaica Co-operatives Insurance Agency Ltd (JCIA) in 2009 in recognition of the changes to the ownership structure of the society.
