Curious young individuals are being nurtured by a pioneering independent preparatory and pre-school, Creative Kids Learning Academy (CKLA), in Kingston. Located in Kingston’s “Golden Triangle”, CKLA is Registered and Approved by the Ministry of Education Jamaica, Independent Schools Division and combines the enjoyable and exciting American A Beka System of teaching/learning, with the Jamaican Ministry of Education system.
With small class sizes of maximum fifteen (15) students, teachers are able to give each child individual attention, toward the achievement of the school motto, “Building Brighter Futures”. Children begin reading with ease in Kindergarten at age four, a year ahead of their counterparts in public schools. This highly innovative hybrid is proving successful year after year, graduating students with a balance of academic excellence, confidence, compassion, awareness and a mindset to create positive change for mankind through leadership and teamwork.
The CKLA educational program is so designed that the average student achieves above-average excellence. And so, seemingly effortlessly, CKLA students have an enviable record, year after year, of achieving excellent GSAT passes for first listed high schools.
Conceptualized by Miss Haedi-Kaye Holmes, a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, she opened her dream school in September 2000 with a population of approximately five students. Today Creative Kids Learning Academy has expanded to a tightly knit community of teachers, administrative staff and over 140 students. This community has pulled together to build and implement the infrastructure, facilities and services necessary to feed the eager young minds in their charge with many of the essentials for learning at their fingertips.
