Katawud Village is a Maroon family-owned and operated ecotourism establishment in Ginger House in the Upper Rio Grande Valley, Portland. Katawud Village is located 12 miles (about 45 minutes) from Port Antonio in the Blue & John Crow Mountains National Park UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We are open Tuesdays to Sundays from 12 noon until but will accommodate groups who contact us ahead of time outside of those days and times. We have special events on weekends (Fridays – Sundays) that may include a Farmer’s Market, riverside film screenings, games, live music (Maroon and Kumina drummers, Mento and Reggae bands), oldies but goodies music, etc. Next year, Katawud Village will be introducing the first annual Maroon Jerk Fest, August 4 – 6, 2024 (www.maroonjerkfest.com).
