Fitzroy Symister - Soul Artist
Fitzroy Symister was born in Jamaica, so the natural beauty of his surrounding has nourished Symister's being. He is devoting most of his time to painting. He strives to convey the essence of life through his works.
Therefore he had been given the name “ Soul Artist “. He uses the mediums Acrylic, Oil and Water Colour on paper and canvas.
Although showing the skills of a trained artist, he has not been formally taught.
Symister’s work has been influenced by Rembrandt, Cezanne, Lhermitte, Leonardo Da Vinci, Barrington Watson, Richard Hall, Diego Velazquez and Winston Clarke.
He lives and works in Zion Hill, Port Antonio, Portland and periodically in Europe, where he also hosts art classes.
-Beside that, Symister is one of the founders of Open Doors for Art - a foundation established to assist young artists across Jamaica, dedicated to helping them share their talents.
The foundation provides materials to help artists create exceptional artwork and offers guidance in getting their works exposed.
The “Soul Artist“ Symister would like his work to have a positive impact on true art lovers. He has been exhibiting at the Liguanea Art Fair, the Devon House, Mandeville Art Fair, Hall, Rose the Half Moon Hotel, etc. Most of his pieces are in private and corporate collections in Jamaica and overseas.
