In a bid to foster greater transparency in the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) will update its website with information on large US dollar transactions.
Starting Monday, the central bank will provide the volume and price for each US dollar transaction (buy and sell) of US$100,000 or more as reported by authorised foreign exchange dealers and cambios.
Of note, is that these transactions do not represent all of the tradings on that day but only the individual trades of US$100,000 or more.
This information will be available on the Bank’s website at the end of each day’s trading and will not identify the counterparties to each transaction, the BOJ said in a statement.
In addition, the public will be able to view historical data on this information starting with data for May 20, 2019.
