Celery Drink Recipe

 Source: Jamaican Cookery-https://www.jamaicancookery.com/2017/02/celery-healthy-drink-recipe.html

Celery juice is good by itself or mixed with other vegetable juices, and goes best with carrot. Celery juice has a calming effect on the nervous system. This is probably due to its high concentration of organic alkaline minerals, especially sodium.

Organic sodium, which is abundant in celery juice, has received a bad name lately because of some people's habitual overuse of inorganic sodium chloride (table salt). Unlike inorganic sodium chloride, organic sodium found in celery juice is naturally blended with many other useful minerals. It is essential to the proper functioning of all major body systems. Organic sodium is the element in blood that makes it salty.

Benefits of celery

Celery has long been known to be one of the best foods to keep your blood pressure normal. It dilates blood vessels like most potent drugs, but without the harmful side effects. According to my parents, celery is better than Viagra. Furthermore, the actual aroma of celery contains two steroids called androsterone and androstenol
Celery has been held as an aphrodisiac and contains, vitamin E, magnesium, niacin, potassium, sodium and zinc. And it gets even better because celery also contains arginine, a natural amino acid that expands blood vessels much like Viagra. Yet, unlike Viagra, arginine also increases blood flow to the clitoris and makes female genitals more responsive.

Celery seed has been used as medicine for thousands of years in the Eastern world. During ancient times.

Today, celery seed is used mostly as a diuretic, meaning it helps your body eliminate water by increasing urine output. Celery seed is also used for:

The celery plant is slender and stands about 2 to 3 feet tall. It has 3 to 5 segmented leaves and flowers with small white petals. Celery seeds, which are found in the flowers, are very small, tan to dark brown, and have a strong, pleasant smell.

Celery seeds contain several substances, including:

  • Flavonoids, which are antioxidants that give plants their colours and may protect cells from damage
  • Coumarins, chemicals that help thin the blood
  • Linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid

Celery seeds are available as:

Some of the chemicals in celery stems and seeds can cause the skin to become very sensitive to the sun's UV rays. Use sunscreen or sunblock lotions.

DO NOT take celery seeds from a gardening packet. These seeds have usually been treated with chemicals.
